What to Say When Someone Asks Questions About God

Christian witnessing while drinking coffee. It Happens All the Time

You finally step out in faith…

You start talking to someone about God…

And then suddenly:

👉 They ask a question you weren’t expecting.

  • “What about suffering?”
  • “Why are there so many religions?”
  • “What about people who never heard?”

And just like that…

👉 You feel stuck.

Here’s the Truth (This Will Help You Relax)

👉 You don’t have to have every answer.

That’s not your job.

Your job is simple:

👉 Point people to Jesus Christ.

Don’t Let Questions Distract from the Gospel

Questions are important—but they can also become a distraction.

The most important issue is not:

  • Church
  • Religion
  • Politics
  • Opinions

👉 It’s this:

What will you do with Jesus Christ?

A Simple Way to Respond

When someone asks a difficult question, try this:

👉 Acknowledge → Redirect → Share the Gospel

1. Acknowledge

Be kind and respectful:

👉 “That’s a really good question.”

2. Redirect

Bring the focus back:

👉 “But can I ask you something more important?”

3. Share the Gospel

👉 “If you were to die today, are you 100% sure you’d go to Heaven?”

Now you’re back where it matters most.

Keep the Main Thing the Main Thing

You don’t win people by:

  • Winning debates
  • Knowing everything
  • Having perfect answers

👉 You win people by giving them the Gospel.

Use Scripture (This Is Powerful)

God’s Word does the work.

“For the word of God is quick, and powerful…”
Hebrews 4:12

You don’t need clever arguments.

👉 You need truth.

It’s Okay to Say “I Don’t Know”

This frees a lot of people:

👉 “That’s a great question—I don’t know the full answer.”

Then say:

👉 “But I do know this…”

And bring it back to Christ.

Don’t Get Pulled Off Track

Some people will try to:

  • Debate endlessly
  • Avoid the real issue
  • Change the subject

Stay focused:

👉 Jesus. The cross. Salvation.

Remember This One Thing

Let this stick with you:

👉 People don’t need all their questions answered to be saved.

They need:

👉 The Gospel.

A Final Encouragement

Next time someone asks a hard question…

Don’t panic.

Don’t freeze.

👉 Just gently guide the conversation back to Christ.

In the next post, we’ll cover:

(This is where everything comes together 🔥)

Final Thought

You don’t need to know everything…

👉 You just need to know the One who does.

And His name is Jesus.
