When Jesus Christ died on the cross nearly 2,000 years ago, it was far more than a tragic execution or the death of a good man. The cross was the central event in human history. It was the place where the justice, holiness, mercy, and love of God all met together. It was there that Jesus accomplished everything necessary for sinful mankind to be reconciled to a holy God.

Jesus willingly left Heaven, took upon Himself human flesh, suffered rejection, mockery, torture, and crucifixion — all because He loves us.
No one forced Him to go to the cross.

Imagine the Creator dying for His creation.
Imagine the sinless Son of God hanging between Heaven and Earth for guilty rebels.
The nails did not hold Jesus to the cross. Love held Him there.
Every drop of blood testified to the mercy and grace of God.
The cross tells us that no sinner is beyond hope. No past is too dark. No life is too broken. Jesus died so that all who come to Him by faith can be saved.
Jesus Opened The Door To Eternal Life
The greatest accomplishment of the cross is that Jesus made eternal life available to all who believe.
Salvation is not earned through religion or good deeds. It is received as a gift by faith in Jesus Christ.

Because of the cross, forgiveness is available.
Because of the cross, sinners can become children of God.
Because of the cross, believers have the promise of Heaven.

The cross was the doorway through which eternal salvation was purchased.
What Must You Do To Be Saved?
The message of the cross demands a response.
Jesus did not die merely to inspire us or to make us emotional. He died to save us.
The Bible says:
“That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved.” — Romans 10:9 (KJV)
Salvation comes when a person repents of sin and places their faith in Jesus Christ alone.

Church attendance cannot save you.
Good works cannot save you.
