The Most Important Question You Could Ever Ask
In the book of Acts, a man once asked a question that still echoes today:
“Sirs, what must I do to be saved?”
— Acts 16:30
This wasn’t a casual question.
👉 This was a man who knew he needed help.
👉 This was a man who knew he was in trouble.
And the answer he received…
👉 Is the same answer for you today.
📖 The Simple Answer
“Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ, and thou shalt be saved…”
— Acts 16:31
That’s it.
Not a list of rules.
Not a lifetime of good works.
👉 Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ.
❓ What Does It Mean to “Believe”?
This is where many people get confused.
Believing is not just:
- Knowing facts about Jesus
- Agreeing that He existed
- Saying you believe in God
👉 Biblical belief means:
Trusting fully in Jesus Christ alone to save you
📖 What Are You Believing?
You are believing that:
👉 Jesus Christ is the Son of God
👉 He died for your sins
👉 He was buried
👉 He rose again the third day
“Christ died for our sins… was buried… and… rose again the third day…”
— 1 Corinthians 15:3–4
❌ What Does NOT Save You
Let’s be clear—because this matters:
🚫 You are NOT saved by:
- Being a good person
- Going to church
- Being baptized
- Trying to live better
- Keeping commandments
📖 The Bible Says
“Not by works of righteousness which we have done, but according to his mercy he saved us…”
— Titus 3:5
💡 Why Not Works?
Because no one is good enough.
“For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God;”
— Romans 3:23
👉 We all fall short.
👉 We all need a Savior.
🔥 What About Repentance?
As we saw in the last post:
👉 Repentance is a change of mind
You realize:
- You are a sinner
- You cannot save yourself
- You need Christ
📖 Together They Work Like This
“Repentance toward God, and faith toward our Lord Jesus Christ.”
— Acts 20:21
👉 You turn to God
👉 You trust in Christ
🙌 It Really Is That Simple
God did the work.
Jesus paid the price.
👉 You simply receive it by faith.
📖 A Powerful Promise
“For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved.”
— Romans 10:13
🙏 How Do You Call on the Lord?
It’s not about perfect words.
It’s about a sincere heart.
You can call on Him right now.
🗣️ A Simple Prayer (Example)
“Lord, I know that I am a sinner.
I know I cannot save myself.
I believe Jesus died for my sins and rose again.
I am trusting in Him alone to save me.
Please save me. Amen.”
⚠️ Important
The prayer itself does not save you.
👉 Jesus saves you.
The prayer is simply:
👉 Expressing your faith to God.
🎯 Right Now
You don’t have to wait.
You don’t have to fix your life first.
👉 You can come to Christ right now.
🔥 Final Thought
The question is not:
👉 “What must I do?”
The real question is:
👉 “Will I believe?”
🙌 A Question for You
Have you trusted Jesus Christ alone for your salvation?
